With the rapid change of carrier resin, the processing technology and related equipment of polyolefin filling masterbatch have changed gradually.
The carrier resin used in the first generation of polyolefin filler masterbatch (APP masterbatch) is random polypropylene (in fact, by-product of polypropylene production) in China. The production process of master batch filling is generally divided into two steps:
One step is to prepare pigment pre-dispersant, which is to use dispersant or other additives to treat the surface of the pigment; the second step is to prepare masterbatch by mixing the pigment pre-dispersing resin with the carrier resin. The masterbatch is modified by pigments, dispersants, carrier resins and appropriate additives. The main function of dispersant is to make the pigments fully dispersed, evenly dispersed in the carrier resin and matrix resin, and eventually get the plastic products with uniform color. The carrier resin used in Masterbatch should have good compatibility with the coated resin. The second carrier resin should have greater fluidity than the coated resin so as to make the dispersing effect of the pigment better and better. The composition of masterbatch, the selection of pigments and the number of pigments depend on the properties of the pigmented plastics.
